We were so blessed this weekend! All of our stuff that we wanted to take down to Eugene fit in my dad's truck and a trailer that we borrowed! Also, it didn't rain the whole trip down to Eugene! It ended up raining later that night.
We had a busy weekend starting with our drive down to Eugene. We read the rental agreement that ended up being around 12 pages long. We were then given our keys to our new apartment! I was a little nervous about seeing it. All we knew was what apartment we were in, that it was on the third floor, all the windows look out on the marshy/woodland area, and that we had vaulted ceilings. Well I love it! It is seriously 100x better than our last apartment (which was great for a first apt. for us). We have a dishwasher, washer, dryer, a second bedroom, and even a deck! Yay! We also have a dining area which is away from the kitchen a little bit, so that will make us feel less claustrophobic. The kitchen also has a lot more drawers and shelf space, so we won't have to cram our stuff as much as our last apartment either.
The biggest problem is that we are missing some key pieces of furniture. Tom's brother made a very nice chest of drawers for himself, but he let us use it while he was on his mission. Well, he comes back in October, so we had to leave that behind. Also, the couch Tom nabbed for free was too big to take over, so we don't have a couch either. We also had to leave behind a couple of bookshelves. The bookshelves can be replaced, and the chest of drawers is going to have to be. However, we might be living without a couch until we can find one on Craig's list or something and we get a good friend with a good truck. :-)
Altogether though, it is great. We have a 24 hour fitness room and two 12 hour pools we can use. The community also holds get-togethers and activities a lot, so we can get to know our neighbors that way.

I'm glad you like your new place. It sounds really nice.
you don't know me, I am susan's cousin. Anyway, i read that you lived in Santa Rosa. I grew up there. Did you live there long? I didn't recognize your face, but you never know....
Yes, I recognize the name. That's cool. My maiden name is Crook, my family still lives there, and all of my husbands family too.
